How does the transaction fee work alongside a monthly plan?
The 5–10% transaction fee applies to all accounts. Your monthly plan determines what you can do on the platform (inquiry volume, watch alerts, etc.). Yard Owner accounts receive a reduced fee rate: 4% on transactions under $5K and 8% on $5K+ — savings that typically exceed the plan cost for active sellers.
What's the Grading Inspection Request feature?
Verified Contractor members can request a Tradeyard-certified inspector to visit a Grade A or B listing before purchase, at their own cost ($150–400 depending on material type and volume). This is separate from seller-initiated certification and gives buyers an independent third-party confirmation.
What is embodied carbon documentation export?
Tradeyard transaction records include material provenance, grade certification, and inspector documentation. Verified Contractor members can export this data in a format accepted for NYC Local Law 97 and CA SB 905 compliance submissions. This eliminates the 4–8 hour documentation process that contractors currently do manually.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
Yes. Plan changes take effect immediately. If you upgrade mid-month, you're prorated. Downgrade takes effect at the next billing cycle.
Does the 14-day free trial require a credit card?
No. The Verified Contractor trial starts free. You add a card when you choose to continue after 14 days.
Why is listing free if Tradeyard takes a fee?
We only make money when a transaction completes — so we're incentivized to make listings visible, buyers qualified, and the handoff smooth. Charging to list would create misaligned incentives where we profit from failed attempts.
